The listing doesn't explicitly say if this is hotswap or not. It is not. And while some of the other listing for things like the Corne do specify it's howswap, so you could logically surmise that if it doesn't mention that it's hotswap than it isn't, but this should be clearly and not something I need to deduce.
The photos from the listing are very basic and I hope they add more angles because this could also clear up the socket questions.
The keycaps I believe are ABS? They feel very smooth, and DSA is my favorite keycap profile, but something felt off about these. I did replace them with some PBS profile keycaps I wanted to try, and I think it's fair to have keycaps that keep the price down and that let's be honest people are probably swapping out when they get this. But even so, I really wish they did include homing keys with this starter set of keycaps, or at least an option. I feel so strongly about this that it's the reason I took a star off. If this is your first split ergo, you're going to want those homing keys to help you ease in and it's just downright bizarre to me that there isn't even an option to include 2 homing keys as a zero-cost option.
The TRRS cable included I also felt was serviceable but a little short for something ideally you could space shoulder-length apart for ergonomics.
But overall, solid build, worked perfectly, I have already flashed my own QMK firmware on it. If I had one other major criticism of it is that it comes with VIA or VIAL firmware, but nothing in the packaging, nor on the product page, shed any light on which QMK variant this runs. The sweep has a few different branches it looks like and not all of them are compatible with each other. But if I was looking for that info the first place I would check would either be on the page for that product or in the documentation included in the box when purchasing. A power user that they already probably know wants to compile custom firmware to really get the most out of a powerful board like this will be in for a little bit of digging and I think the vendor should take just a few steps to set them on the right path by specifying the QMK build on the product page or in the included documentation that ships with it.
tl;dr soldered switches, no homing keys, buy a longer TRRS cable to use instead of using the stock one.
