Description

NEW! Ambients Silent Linear switches from lowprokb. The Nocturnal switch is a silent version of the Kailh Pro Pink Choc switch. The switch was born from a design by LowproKB - a company that specialises in anything and everything low profile and Choc - and manufactured by Kailh, the leading company in Choc switches.

The Ambients series are based on the original Kailh Choc V1 switch, but are a completely new design, having all their parts redesigned to accommodate the new components required to quieten the typical switch noise. Silicone bumpers have been strategically placed within the new design to buffer both the down and the up stroke of a keypress, all while not creating a mushy feeling while typing.

Specifications:

  • Manufacturer: Kailh
  • Type: Low Profile/Linear
  • Actuation: 20g
  • Bottom Out: N/A
  • Pre Travel: 1.5mm
  • Travel: 3mm
  • Mounting: PCB(5-Pin)

Sold in 10's. 1 set = 10 switches

So light and smooth - but bit of a learning curve!

Granted I was coming from 60g tactile, but still have to be very gentle! I ended up putting some ambient twilight's on thumb, index, middle. Can't tell a difference but don't miss fire if I'm tired and resting on home row.

They are incredibly light and quiet keys! As someone new to key switches, something to point out that they are very easy to press and trigger. I recommend to put them for keys weak fingers.

Best choc switches

I can’t use any other choc switches after using these. They are so smooth and silent.

I've recently finished my dactyl build with these switches and I'm loving them. I didn't hate the amount of noise that the standard non silent chocs make, but this is just even better. They are actually more silent than I expected.

Another note is that if you bottom out when you type, these are noticeably softer feeling than normal chocs, which is another benefit if it applies to you.
