Description

Behold, this is the Sofle Keyboard – a 6×4+5 keys column-staggered split keyboard with encoder support. Based on Lily58, Corne, and Helix keyboards.

This kit contains the base components need to build your own Sofle Keyboard, all you will need to add is switches, controllers, keycaps and a USB cable. For a complete list of what is provided, check the full description below.

2x PCBs (black)
2x Switch plates (FR4)
2x Bottom plates (FR4)
65 Diodes
Hotswap sockets
2x OLED screens
Screws and standoffs
Adhesive rubber feet
TRRS jacks
Reset buttons
2x encoders & knobs
Acrylic OLED covers (3mm clear acrylic)
Basic TRRS cable

Please note the FR4 plate in the choc kit has been modified to allow extra room for the encoder, and the kit does not include switches, keycaps, controllers or a USB C cable.

*Do not hotplug TRRS cables while your keyboard is powered as this can cause permanent damage.

the keys are not included in the set

It is not clear in the order whether the keys are included in the set. So the order, which was intended as a gift, was unsuccessful. To this day I don't know where you can buy the matching keys.

It does say on the page that you need switches and keycaps (and contains a full bullet point list of everything contained in the kit), but I can understand how the wording might be a little confusing. We'll update it to make it more clear for future customers. Sorry that you had a bad experience with us.

Great hardware,poor support.

The keyboard kit was constructed perfectly, looks and feels great.
Delivery and communication was also great.
Problem is the keyboard does not work on my Linux distro, i was told to flash the keyboard with a new firmware that lowers the security for bluetooth connections, this is i am afraid beyond me and so have a very expensive paperweight.

Sofle Kit order and shipping process review

I ordered the Sofle kit from the US, I ordered this with soldering included for the hot swap-able sockets but I forgot to add controllers to my order, i did not even need to reach out and I quickly revived an email helping me easily select the controllers for the board i ordered. I was then sent an invoice for the controllers and my order was shipped out the next day and arrived very fast for coming from out of the country. 10/10 customer support, will be getting parts here again for sure.

Service and care is a 10/10

The service and care you get from mech boards is amazing! I was blown away by how fast people were there to help me and it made the whole process a breeze. I completely understand keyboard issues happen and these guys were there to help immediately. Such a pleasure working with them and I hope to buy stuff from them more often!! Can you guys open a USA branch?
